Aaron Ramsey scored on his league debut for Juventus after joining from Arsenal in the summer. Ramsey signed a pre-contract agreement to join Juventus on a free transfer from Arsenal and he has made an immediate impact.
The Wales international was introduced as a late substitute on Wednesday in the Champions League. But now he has made his Serie A debut for his new club – and it did not take him long to make an impact.
Juventus were trailing 1-0 at home to Hellas Verona after Miguel Veloso scored in the 20th minute. However, Ramsey took just 31 minutes to make his mark for the Old Lady. He equalised just after the half-hour mark.
Ramsey collected the ball in the middle of the park and tried his luck from range. His luck was in as his effort took a deflection and went past ex-Leeds United stopper Marco Silvestri.
This got Juventus back level and the reigning champions ended up winning the contest. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty early in the second half and Verona ended the game with 10 men.
Arsenal fans are well aware of Ramsey’s talent and he is already showcasing his ability in Italy. The 28-year-old has the ability to make things happen in midfield, offering goals and assists.
Gunners fans might miss Ramsey, who was a fan favourite in North London. But the midfield is not the problem at The Emirates Stadium; the defence is the bigger concern.
