‘Everything that’s happened’: BBC pundit says £45m Arsenal player completely ran the show today

BBC pundit Glenn Murray says Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey completely ran the show at the Emirates today.

The Gunners put in a five-star display against Steve Cooper’s men to move back above Manchester City at the top of the table.

It was the perfect response from Arsenal after dropping points last weekend against Southampton and a disappointing display on Thursday evening.

An early goal from Gabriel Martinelli got Mikel Arteta’s side off to the perfect start. But it was the second-half where Arsenal really stepped it up a gear.

And Partey got amongst the goals in the second-half with an effort that was almost identical to his goal against Tottenham earlier this month.

The £45 million man received the ball outside the box and unleashed a first-time shot into the top corner.

And Murray feels that everything Arsenal did today went through the Ghanaian.

Murray says Partey ran the show roday

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Murray praised Partey for controlling the game from midfield.

“The team has been exceptional. Shootout to Reiss Nelson who came on as an early substitute and got two goals and an assist,” he said.

“Everything that’s happened for Arsenal has come through Thomas Partey.”

Nelson replaced the injured Bukayo Saka during the first-half and the youngster put in an impressive display by bagging a brace.

Martin Odegaard got amongst the goals as well and rounded off a superb display in north London.

Partey has been a vital part of Arsenal’s near-flawless start to the season as they look a far better outfit with him on the pitch.

Arteta will be hoping to keep the midfielder off the sidelines as he has struggled with injuries since moving to the Emirates.

Arsenal face a huge clash next weekend as they travel to Stamford Bridge to face their London rivals Chelsea.
