Jermain Defoe has named Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris as the best goalkeeper he has played with or against.

The Spurs cult hero was speaking on the 1-To-11 show on Premier League Productions.

On the show, Defoe picked out a dream XI made up of the teammates or rivals who impressed him the most.

And Lloris, his former teammate at Tottenham, made the cut in between the sticks.

Defoe also went through some honourable mentions, such as Shaka Hislop, David James and Brad Friedel.

But in the end, the £12million signing from Lyon back in 2012 was his final choice in goal.

“I’m going with Hugo Lloris,” said Defoe. “I mean, everyone knows how good he is.

“Hugo was a special goalkeeper. What impressed me the most was how quickly he was off his line. Brilliant goalkeeper.

“Very vocal. He’s a leader, natural leader, so good with his feet as well.

“One of the best at head tennis. Really impressed with just how quick he was around the goal. Yeah, really good.”

Lloris has become a legend for both Tottenham and France.

The 35-year-old – who captains club and country – has clocked up a staggering 414 appearances for Spurs.

Lloris has also won 139 caps for Les Bleus, helping them win the 2018 World Cup and the 2021 UEFA Nations League.

Earlier this year, the 6ft 2in ace penned a contract extension with Tottenham until the summer of 2024.

Spurs are now looking superb under Antonio Conte – could he finally lift silverware at N17 this season?
