Richarlison finally had his moment of glory against Newcastle at the weekend.
After 18 months of struggles, the Brazilian netted a brace in a big game to finally announce himself at Tottenham.
As you can imagine, after the game, the South America has been making all of the headlines, but the all-round performance from Spurs was brilliant, and a number of players deserve their due credit.
Speaking on Off the Ball, Pat Nevin has been dissecting Spurs’ performance against Newcastle, and he says that while everyone was speaking about Richarlison, Heung-Min Son was also absolutely brilliant at the weekend.

Son was amazing
Nevin gave his verdict on the £22m man.
“I don’t think Spurs have been playing badly, they haven’t got the results, but they had that midfield back again. Everyone is talking about Richarlison, but Son was outrageous, the tactics were brilliant,” Nevin said.
Brilliant as always
Richarlison did get most of the headlines after this game, and while Son did deserve his praise, the South Korean’s performance wasn’t as noteworthy because we’re so used to seeing this.
Indeed, Son has been fantastic for Tottenham since the start of the season, and it’s not worth overly-discussing something that we’re used to seeing every single week.
Richarlison’s performance was so noteworthy because it was by far and away his best performance for Tottenham since joining. Meanwhile, it was just another day in the office for Son who has been utterly fantastic for years at this point.
Of course, we shouldn’t just ignore Son because we’re used to seeing him at this level, but it is understandable why Richarlison has been at the centre of attention in recent days as his performance at the weekend was much more noteworthy than Son’s due to the rarity of this kind of showing.
