Liverpool star Andrew Robertson has backed Reds and Scotland Calvin Ramsay to have a bright future for club and country.

The Liverpool left-back was speaking to the Reds website ahead of Scotland’s friendly loss to Turkey on Wednesday night.

Ramsay has debuted for both Liverpool and Scotland over the past few weeks.

The 19-year-old joined the Reds from Aberdeen in June for a deal reportedly worth up to £6.5million.

However, the Anfield staff discovered an injury during the player’s medical.

Ramsay has needed some time to recover and get up to speed, eventually making his debut against Napoli in the Champions League.

He then got his first Liverpool start against Derby in the Carabao Cup.

And on Wednesday, Ramsay came on against Turkey in Diyarbakir.

‘He’s been training really well’

Robertson loves how his younger teammate has handled each step in his career so far.

He is excited by the potential for Ramsay to blossom further, adding that he’s been doing very well in training.

“He doesn’t seem fazed by a lot of things and takes everything in his stride – that’s credit to him,” said Robertson.

“Everyone at Liverpool is excited to see how far he can go and I’m sure everyone in Scotland is the same.

“He’s coming up against the world’s best right-back in Trent [Alexander-Arnold].

“But since he’s been back in training, he’s been training really well and obviously got his reward with his debut.

“He’ll be looking for more game time – that’s how you learn and develop.

“I know he’s excited being involved in the Scotland camp and I’m sure he’ll be involved in a lot more for many years to come.”

Fans have had to wait a while for Ramsay to take to the pitch, but so far he’s looked incredibly bright.

Klopp has previously said he’s excited about the young Scot, and he certainly seems to have a lot of potential.
