Arsenal beat Liverpool at the weekend, but, for some reason, the Gunners’ brilliant performance against the Reds hasn’t been the main talking point this week.
Indeed, after a huge title clash, somehow, the main point of conversation has been the Arsenal celebrations after the game and how Mikel Arteta reacted to this victory on the touchline.
Arteta and his players showed a lot of passion after the game, and there were accusations of over celebration from many within the game.
Speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off Podcast, Chris Sutton has been discussing Arteta’s celebrations against Liverpool, and he says that everyone he has spoken to in football over the past week has agreed that Arteta’s celebrations were over the top.

Mikel Arteta’s celebrations were over the top
Sutton shared what people he’s spoken to have said about Arteta.
“They’ve gone from over celebrating to over reacting. There is a serious point about Mikel Arteta being over emotional and if that rubs off on their players, but this could be a defining moment in the season. Everybody I have spoken to in football have said it was slightly over the top and if Arsenal fans are getting offended by that then it says more about them,” Sutton said.
Really?
We can’t help but take issue with this point of view.
Yes, Arteta did give it a bit after the win, but what’s wrong with that? It was a home game against a title rival won in convincing fashion.
If you can’t celebrate after a win like that, when can you celebrate? Does everyone just want everyone in football to just be ultra-serious and somewhat miserable at all times?
Arteta’s celebrations really weren’t that much of a big deal, and we can’t understand why this has all been blown so much out of proportion.
