Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has heaped praised on Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon, highlighting the Spaniard’s defensive play in the weekend win over West Brom.
The Gunners legend was speaking on Match of the Day 2 following the crucial 1-0 win for Spurs. It took a late goal from Harry Kane to snatch the three points, while Mourinho’s men also dug deep to stop the Baggies.

And Reguilon, who signed for Spurs in the summer from Real Madrid, has impressed Wright.
“You see Reguilon there, who had another brilliant game, getting forward, but he was across there to cover him. He was in the right place and the right time today, every single time,” Wright said.
The 23-year-old moved to Spurs ahead of a plethora of other interested clubs, including both Manchester United and Everton.

Reguilon has made a big impression already. His attacking performances have been excellent but as Wright highlights here, Reguilon’s defensive displays have been just as positive.
A fine signing, if not the best – TBR View
In a summer where Tottenham made a number of big name signings to help Jose Mourinho along, Reguilon might well just end up being the best of the lot.
Consistent, quick, athletic and equally adept in both attacking and defensive areas, Reguilon has been an astute signing already.
If he continues his upward trajectory, then there’s no reason why Spurs can’t class themselves as having one of the very best left-backs in the Premier League on their hands.
