Ashley Cole is in the headlines today for a good reason.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back has been announced as the latest player to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Cole joins players like Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer as already being in there.
Cole enjoyed two superb spells in England two of the biggest teams going. He was a key part of Chelsea’s bulldozing team between 2006 and 2014, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League while there.
Of course, prior to that, Cole was part of the famous Arsenal Invincibles team from 2003/04 led by Arsene Wenger.
And Cole, receiving his hall of fame medal from the Premier League, offered up some insight into life at Arsenal under Wenger that season.

Ashley Cole on Arsene Wenger and Arsenal’s Invincibles
Speaking about his former teammates and manager for PremierLeague.com, Cole revealed that the mindset of the team came purely from Wenger.
“This group of players were certainly confident and had a lot of self belief but it wasn’t arrogance. We went into every game thinking how many are we going to get today. That was a mindset that was filtered down from Arsene Wenger, he gave us a lot of belief in the group. Every game we went out and walked on that pitch we felt we are going to win. To understand the context of it, we have gone unbeaten, you know how hard it is. To do that with this group of players is something special to me,” Cole said.
Ashley Cole deserves Hall of Fame nod
The Premier League Hall of Fame is a great idea and Ashley Cole is more than deserving of his place in there.
Cole is comfortably one of the best left-backs to ever do it, especially here in England, and few would do an all-time PL XI and not include him.

For England, too, Cole was brilliant and a nod to his performances for the Three Lions is made in the video, referencing his battles with Cristiano Ronaldo at club and international level.
His comments on Wenger and that all conquering Arsenal team are interesting as well. Nobody has done it since either, which shows how mammoth an achievement it was.
Cole, then, is a fitting member of this exclusive club from the Premier League.
