When Everton first appointed Marcel Brands as the club’s new director of football a certain well-known football agent’s name also came up. As reported by Sky Sports, the Italian agent Mino Raiola was set to become a go-to guy for Everton in the transfer market. He is well-known to Brands from his extensive work in the Dutch football market.
This summer, it came to fruition, with the arrival of Moise Kean from Juventus, even if it has not yet proved a successful union.
Now it seems it could yet again be playing a key role in another eye-catching transfer rumour.
Everton are reportedly (Area Napoli) interested in making Zlatan Ibrahimovic their biggest earner and bringing the Swedish legend to Goodison Park on a free transfer following his departure from LA Galaxy.
It would be a huge move for Everton and one which, without Raiola’s presence, would probably be laughed at.
Zlatan is one of football’s biggest names and could choose from a host of top clubs and paydays from clubs around the world.
However, with Raiola involved, there is no doubt that Everton might have a shot considering his strong links with the Merseyside clubs hierarchy.
