Everton fans were left slightly surprised at the weekend when big summer signing Moise Kean was not even in the matchday squad for the clash with Southampton. The Italian has struggled since arriving at Goodison Park, despite having the overall support of the Everton fanbase.
The only upshot to the news as far as fans were concerned was the subsequent inclusion of Anthony Gordon.
The 18-year-old, who made his Everton debut in December 2016 in a Europa League clash against Apollon Limassol, had not featured in a first-team matchday squad in the Premier League before.

However, his sensational form in David Unsworth’s under-23 side meant it was becoming harder and harder for Marco Silva not to include him in the first-team picture.
Gordon did not make it onto the pitch, but it seems it is now only a matter of time before he makes his Premier League debut for Everton.
The England under-19 international is clearly excited about that possibility, taking to Twitter to announce just as much.
Everton fans are also excited. Those following Unsworth’s youngsters will have seen just how impressive Gordon has been and his fresh impetus could really spark some life into Everton’s often laborious attacking mindset this season.
