Everton winger Bernard responds to Roma transfer reports on Instagram

Everton winger Bernard has been linked with a move to AS Roma this week. As reported by LaRoma24, the Brazilian is believed to have been offered to the Giallorossi as Everton look to balance the books in the upcoming transfer window. 

Carlo Ancelotti seems to be a fan of the Brazilian international. However, with Everton’s wage bill bloated and the global health crisis set to take its toll on football clubs, cutting Bernard’s reported (The Mirror) £120,0000-a-week wages from the club.  

However, the player himself has clearly heard nothing about these rumours. 

He has responded to a post on Instagram referencing the rumour, making it clear that the report is nothing short of fabrication, as this Twitter post highlights. 

The 27-year-old has blown hot and cold since heading to Goodison Park on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.

However, his ability to produce a moment of magic cannot be underestimated, even if it is not done on a consistent basis.

Everton will hopefully hold on to the 5ft 5ins wizard, who will hope to find his best form on a regular basis when football gets back under way.
