Everton’s transfer business in the summer probably deserves to be scrutinised at this stage. Moise Kean has struggled to settle whilst Jean-Philippe Gbamin has spent his near entire Everton career on the treatment table so far.
However, the addition of Djibril Sidibe in the summer is now looking like a great piece of business from the Toffees.
Not only the loan deal, but the option to buy included in his move from Monaco now looks shrewd.
As reported by L’Equipe, Everton also have a £12.75 million permanent option included in his deal. Based on early evidence, that could be a bargain.
Whilst Sidibe has some defensive frailties, he is looking in fantastic form going forward and his assist for Richarlison at the weekend was truly special.
The World Cup winner is slowly finding his feet and getting comfortable at Goodison Park and has taken his chance after Seamus Coleman’s suspension with both hands.
At around £13 million he would be an absolute bargain for Everton and hopefully, he can continue this form for the rest of the season.
If he does, then Everton will undoubtedly be prepared to pay that fee for the Frenchman.
