Last summer Everton snapped up Nigerian talent Henry Onyekuru from KAS Eupen. It was a battle to get hold of him, with plenty of other clubs in England and across Europe keen on his signature.
But despite Everton splashing out £7 million for the player, he is yet to play a game for the club.
Onyekuru has not yet been granted a work permit to play for the club. He was subsequently loaned back to Belgium, joining Anderlecht. The idea, was an appearance at the World Cup would see Onyekuru receive the necessary permit. However, an injury prevented that from happening.
So he remained without permission to play in the UK for this season and was loaned out again. This time, the destination was Turkey. He joined Galatasaray on loan until the end of the season.

According to a recent report, Galatasaray even wanted a buy-out clause in the deal, in case he proved a hit in Istanbul. Haberler reported that a fee of £22.5 million was what Everton wanted.
Galatasaray said no and, as it stands, it would appear the Nigerian will return to Everton in the summer.
The fact Everton wanted such a huge price for the player is certainly interesting. He has still yet to play a game for the club but they clearly feel he has a future at Goodison Park long-term.
Everton will hope he can eventually live up to such a price-tag.
