Everton transfer: Real Madrid reportedly stunned at Richarlison valuation
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti could be thwarted in his attempts to raid Everton for Richarlison. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Los Blancos are staggered at the £90 million valuation placed on the Brazilian by the Toffees.
Richarlison is currently at the Olympics with Brazil. He fired a hat-trick during their first game against Germany and also featured in a 0-0 draw with Ivory Coast.
The 24-year-old has spent three years at Goodison Park. He checked in from Watford in a deal worth £50 million and has largely proved impressive.
In 119 games for the club, he has scored 42 goals and registered nine assists. With that in mind, it’s perhaps no surprise that Ancelotti wants him at the Bernabeu.
There is still time for the player to improve and he clearly shone under the influence of Ancelotti.
A reunion doesn’t look to be on the cards, however, Madrid have to cut their cloth accordingly this summer and spending a huge sum on Richarlison doesn’t look likely.
The forward earns £90,000-a-week at Goodison and he would likely earn a substantial wage increase should he ever arrive at the Bernabeu.
Everton right to stand firm over Richarlison
The Toffees will embark on a new era under Rafa Benitez next season and they must ensure they keep their better players.
Ancelotti provided a significant pull to potential signings last season. There are reasons to be cheerful under the former Liverpool boss, however.
Benitez has won big trophies before and he’ll want Richarlison to be the focal point of his strike force at Everton.
The Toffees valuing their star man so highly shows ambition and should delight supporters.
