Everton transfer news: Fans react to hearing who's eyeing move for 24-year-old Toffees star
A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun concerning potential interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the transfer window.
Of course, the Toffees are dealing with a lot of uncertainty right now. They are yet to find a successor for Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian obviously returned to Real Madrid. And it appears that Ancelotti wants a familiar face to make the same journey in the window.
It was previously claimed that Duncan Ferguson had rejected the chance to join Ancelotti’s coaching team at the Bernabeu.
The retired striker turned down the chance to leave Merseyside. But the current talisman could be the next name offered the opportunity to head to the Spanish capital.
According to The Sun, Ancelotti wants Calvert-Lewin. And interestingly, it is claimed that Everton may feel compelled to sell the 24-year-old should they receive an offer of £50 million.
Unsurprisingly, the report has not gone down at all well with Everton fans on social media.
‘Only wants to buy his left leg then’: Everton fans slam Calvert-Lewin transfer reports
Despite the claim Everton may struggle to reject such a bid, plenty of Toffees fans cannot see any reason why the Toffees would accept £50 million for Calvert-Lewin.
The forward scored 16 Premier League goals last season. Many clearly think that his valuation should be considerably higher. And with that, they cannot see Calvert-Lewin making any move this summer.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Everton fans have reacted to the links…
