Everton are reportedly interested in a move for playmaker Shinji Kagawa in the summer.
The 30-year-old is currently out on loan at Turkish club Besiktas from German giants Borussia Dortmund and previously had a spell in England with Manchester United.
According to Takvim, the Toffees and West Ham are both set to rival for the Japan international, while FC Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen are also credited with potential interest.
It is understood that he doesn’t have a future with Dortmund after slipping down the pecking order and that he would cost around £11million to sign.
Kagawa has impressed with three goals in six games since joining Besiktas in January on loan, but that shouldn’t be enough to convince Everton to try take him to Goodison Park.
The attacking midfielder is a well renowned name across European football and was a serious goal threat in his day.
But his legs are going as he ages and the creator would surely find it too difficult trying to make an impact if he returned to the Premier League.
Everton signed Theo Walcott in January 2018 and he had been an impressive player over the years for Arsenal.
But the 30-year-old has been far too inconsistent for the Merseyside club and they should learn from their mistakes by perhaps targeting a younger player to bolster the options in midfield.
