Everton have been linked with a move for Brazilian attacker David Neres this summer. As reported by The Telegraph, Everton are keen on a £35 million deal for the Ajax star. The 22-year-old was a shining light in the Dutch side’s memorable run to the Champions League semi-final this season.

It would undoubtedly be a fantastic signing for Everton. It would also team Neres up with his Brazilian international team-mate Richarlison.

The pair are both in the Brazil squad for this summer’s Copa America. Speaking to BESOCCER, the Ajax man was speaking about his Everton compatriot this week. He quickly made his feelings clear over comparisons between the two.

“It will depend on what the coach needs, but Richarlison is a stronger player, good header, fast and can play up top.

“I have more speed and I am left-footed, so I’m better on the wing.”

It seems that Richarlison and Neres are in fact battling for a place in the Brazilian starting XI this summer. It is a battle that Richarlison is likely to win, as he has already developed a positive relationship with the national boss Tite.

But Everton fans would surely not have to worry about this issue. They would much rather see both Richarlison and Neres starting together in Everton blue next season.
