Everton youngster Nathangelo Markelo has sent a special message on Instagram to Manchester United talent Tahith Chong this week.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Markelo responded to an Instagram post by the United youngster with a simple three-word message, ‘Come to Everton’.

It has certainly caused something of a buzz. With Chong’s current contract at Manchester United set to expire in the summer, it appears the highly-rated 20-year-old is on his way out of Old Trafford.
As reported by FC Inter News, a move to Inter Milan could be on the cards, if Chong’s representatives drop their current commision demands.

But Markelo is clearly of the belief that Chong would be a good addition at Everton. The pair, who both made their Netherlands under-21 international debuts in the same game back in 2018, are clearly close and Chong would certainly fit the profile of a young player Everton director of football Marcelo Brands would be keen on. With Everton also looking for wide additions, Chong could be a shrewd recruit.
However, Chong would not be a free addition for Everton. As he is under 24, and has been with Manchester United from a young age, Everton would have to pay a sizeable compensation fee to the Red Devils for a player who has not yet managed to light up the Premier League.
On top of that, Markelo himself is currently in the final few months of his own contract at Everton, which means he might not be around to welcome Chong at Finch Farm.
Whilst some Everton fans would love to see a talented player like Chong arrive at Goodison Park, it just doesn’t look likely.
