Everton are reportedly rivalling Newcastle United and Real Madrid for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek with the player likely to depart Ajax this summer after almost doing so in January – and Toffees supporters have reacted on Twitter.
Van de Beek, 23, has starred for Ajax this season – having a hand in an impressive 21 goals during his 37 league and cup appearances, scoring 10 and creating 11. Goal claim van de Beek almost joined Real Madrid for £47million in January.
However, the nine-time Netherlands international did not move to the Spanish giants and that has led to an interesting summer ahead of the midfielder. Indeed, Le10Sport claim a move to Real is still on – but English clubs are also keen.

The report states Everton and Newcastle have checked on the midfielder, with Carlo Ancelotti clearly a fan of the midfielder. Newcastle, meanwhile, are in the midst of a takeover and could soon have the finances to make a big-money move.
The midfielder, who is represented by super agent Mino Raiola, is expected to leave but it remains to be seen what fee Ajax will charge – given the competition has increased, but the global health crisis has reduced asking prices.
Everton supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that their club are rivalling Real Madrid and Newcastle for van de Beek and many have urged their board to complete a deal.
