Marco Silva needed a reaction from his Everton side after they were thumped 6-2 at home by Tottenham in their final match before Christmas and he well and truly got it against Burnley yesterday.
The Portuguese shuffled his Toffees pack and unleashed an attacking 3-5-2 system on the struggling Clarets, which brought about a 5-1 victory.
Two goals from Lucas Digne, along with strikes from Yerry Mina, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson sealed the win and while Bernard was not on the scoresheet, he was impressive throughout, drifting in from his wide left position.
The diminutive Brazilian was lively and allowed the rampart Digne to overlap outside him and help Everton get back on track in the best possible way.

Silva needs more performances like that if Everton are to realise their lofty ambitions this season, and another strong away display against Brighton on Saturday will now be the order of the day.
The sooner Bernard gets off the mark, the better, but his lack of goals has not stopped the Goodison natives taking him to their hearts and they showed him the love after he helped get Evertonβs festive period off to the best possible startβ¦
