Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has named Tottenham Hotspur striker and England teammate Harry Kane as his toughest opponent, in conversation with Copa 90.

To date, Kane has registered 181 goals and 30 assists for Spurs, as well as 32 goals from 45 England caps, and along with the Toffees stopper, helped the Three Lions to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.

This term, meanwhile, the 26-year-old sharpshooter claimed 17 goals and two assists in all competitions prior to the suspension of football.

As well as lining up alongside him at international level, Pickford has faced off against Kane five times over the years – twice with Sunderland and three times with Everton – and conceded eight times to the Spurs man.

In conversation with Rio Ferdinand and Mason Holgate on Copa 90, the Everton man said: “Finishing wise it’s got to be Harry Kane. Training with Kane at England, he’s a joke.”

Pickford and Kane were two of England’s standout players at Russia 2018, the Everton man a hero in between the sticks and the Tottenham ace netting six goals for the tournament’s Golden Boot.

The Toffees stopper has found himself on the receiving end of eight Kane goals in just five games against him, testament to the Spurs man’s lethal finishing, and luckily he can count him as a teammate at international level.

While the European Championships won’t take place until next summer, there are certainly high hopes for the Three Lions, who could boast a truly star-studded team come 2021.
