Everton star Richarlison says exactly what Toffees fans want to hear

Everton striker Richarlison has alleviated any fears fans may have had about him leaving in the summer, by insisting he is happy at Goodison Park.

The Brazilian was reportedly the subject of an £85 million bid from Barcelona in January, but the offer was rubbished by the club (Sky Sports).

The former Watford ace is seen as someone with major potential, and some Everton supporters are sure he’ll be targeted in future windows.

But it would seem, for now, that the player is quite content to stay where he is.

In an interview with The Liverpool Echo, Richarlison said exactly what his adoring fans would have hoped to hear.

“Obviously, my number one desire is to get in the Europa League or Champions League with Everton,” he said.

“I spoke to Ancelotti and he is counting on me and so I am focusing on helping Everton and fulfilling my personal objectives and scoring goals.”

Richarlison then spoke about the contract he signed in December, claiming it took hardly any time at all for him to put pen to paper.

“There was little time [between the offer and me signing the contract],” he added.

“There were some small things in there but I decided to renew my contract because I really like the club and the fans. I didn’t think twice about renewing because I really like it here and I want to stay here and be at this club.”

After a good season and the Barcelona links, some fans have been concerned about how much longer the South American would be staying on Merseyside.

His comments are the reassurance many needed, and his popularity is sure to increase even further.
