Everton star Lucas Digne shines in loss, get's 6/10 for 'satisfactory' display
Everton defender Lucas Digne was given a decent rating by Foot Mercato after France were shocked 2-0 by a very impressive Finland outfit last night.
The 27-year-old left-back was given praise despite the embarrassing result for the reigning world champions in their own back yard.
Digne collected his 33rd cap for his country and highlighted exactly why he is rated highly, despite the surprise defeat.

Everton have enjoyed a strong start to the 2020/21 campaign and a large part of that success has been down to Digne.
Foot Mercato went in with the studs showing on some France stars last night – although Digne escaped criticism.
He was praised for his link-up play with Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram.
On the performance of Digne, Foot Mercato wrote: “Once again interesting with lots of climbs and good crosses. He takes the corner which ends up in Thuram’s header hitting the crossbar.
“His technical accuracy helped the Blues to keep the leather without difficulty on this privileged wing in the game. His agreement with Thuram was one of the few satisfactions of the evening for the French side.”

The £90,000-a-week left-back signed for Everton from Barcelona in 2018 for £18 million and that looks like a real steal.
Since arriving he has gone from strength to strength and is now a mainstay in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Given his age and ability, Everton will need to start matching the player’s ambition on the pitch.
With his place in the France team now in no doubt, the Toffees could dearly do with some silverware – or at least European football – to keep Digne satisfied at Goodison Park.
