Here is a quick round-up of what Everton fans might have missed from the club on social media on Wednesday 14th October 2020.

CEO stands strong

Well-known Everton journalist Alan Myers, a former communications director at Goodison Park, has been sharing his insight into the meeting of Premier League clubs regarding project big future.

As detailed by The Guardian, it appears that Everton CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale was one of the more vociferous opponents to the plan that has been making waves in the football world this week.

She reportedly demanded an apology from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool over the deal and Myers seemed to suggest she was indeed very much against the proposal.

DCL takes another accolade

Everton’s goal of the month for September was announced on the club’s official Twitter account yesterday. The fans had plenty to choose from, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s sublime touch and finish off Michael Keane’s laser-guided pass got the nod.

Digne character

Everton fans watched with pride last night as left-back Lucas Digne provided a perfect assist in France’s win over Croatia. The defender played a first-time volleyed cross from Paul Pogba’s sublime raking pass to set up Kylian Mbappe for the winning goal, in a game former Toffee Nikola Vlasic hit the back of the net for Croatia.

But he also came off injured in the game, making him a doubt for the Merseyside derby this weekend.

But Digne posted to his Twitter account after the game praising the character of his team to claim the win. Everton fans will just hope he is fit for the weekend.

Godfrey happy

Everton newbie Ben Godfrey also tweeted last night, celebrating the England under-21s advancing to the European under-21 Championships next summer.

A 2-1 win over Turkey ensured that the side, captained by Everton’s Tom Davies, will be in the competition next summer.

Godfrey played the whole 90 minutes against Turkey and was clearly pleased to have secured safe passage.
