Everton are reportedly back in for Malcom.
Marca claim that the Toffees have reignited their interest after watching him fail to get regular game time at Barcelona.
Malcom was strongly linked with Everton last summer but he ultimately decided to join Barca in a £37 million deal (L’Equipe).
The move simply hasn’t worked out, and he has made just nine appearances, including five in La Liga.
It was always going to be tough for Malcom, who is still only 21 years old – he has Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho for competition.
It would seem Everton fancy their chances of signing him, and he could transform their fortunes.
A scary Brazilian contingent
Everton already have Bernard and Richarlison in their ranks, with both regulars in the side under Marco Silva.
Theo Walcott is arguably the ‘weakest’ of the front three, and Malcom would be a brilliant upgrade on the Englishman.
Hypothetically, an attack consisting of Malcom and Bernard on the wings and Richarlison through the middle would certainly cause problems for many teams in the Premier League.
Being compatriots, one has to assume there would already be a good understanding between them all. They are also all interchangeable.
The Toffees have had some issues creating chances and scoring goals over Christmas, and it does feel as though they could use some reinforcements.
Malcom would be a fine start, but any deal would hinge on whether Farhad Moshiri has changed his stance of two months ago when he said on The Jim White Show the club wouldn’t be signing anyone in January.
Marca did also report that Malcom wants to stay until the end of the season, so Everton may have to wait until then anyway.
