This week saw reports emerge that Manchester United could let Diogo Dalot leave the club this summer. The Metro, talkSPORT and The Sun all reported a secondary story from the Evening Standard that Dalot had been told he could leave. Well, it seems wires were crossed. The initial report stated Matteo Darmian as the man told to exit Manchester United after the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Telegraph have since contradicted the stories. They claim Manchester United believe the £19 million full-back can still ‘develop into a leading talent’ at Old Trafford.
But should Everton test that theory?

Everton need cover at right-back this summer. Jonjoe Kenny has moved to Schalke 04 on loan. Meanwhile, Seamus Coleman has struggled with injuries in recent times. The return of Mason Holgate from West Brom could be the solution but Dalot would be a superb addition.
Capable at both right and left-back, a loan switch to Goodison Park could see him playing regular football. Working under fellow countryman Marco Silva would also be a draw.
It is clear his talent is still raw. Never was that more apparent than at Goodison Park in April, when Everton tore him and the rest of the Manchester United defence apart.
Manchester United would undoubtedly look at the progress Kurt Zouma made at Everton last term and realise it is a great place for the youngster to develop.
With Wan-Bissaka and Ashley Young covering the right-back role, Dalot might find himself out in the cold at United this season. Letting Everton embrace him for a season, or even two, could be beneficial for all parties.
