Everton should step up interest in prolific youngster Arvin Appiah

Everton have previously watched Nottingham Forest starlet Arvin Appiah in action.

And they need to firm up their interest in him before others, like Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves, swoop.

Appiah is a top young talent with a bright future. The 17-year-old is bagging goals for fun for Forest’s youth teams and he is on the brink of a first-team call-up.

Moreover, he is a regular for England’s youth sides. Appiah netted with an acrobatic volley against Sweden last Thursday and scored a penalty in the shoot-out win over the Czech Republic yesterday.

In the past few years, Everton have had a policy of snatching the best young talent from the lower leagues.

The likes of John Stones and Mason Holgate (Barnsley), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Sheffield United) and Ademola Lookman (Charlton) have progressed into the first-team.

Meanwhile, others like Matty Foulds (Bury), Bassala Sambou (Coventry) and Josh Bowler (QPR) are in the academy set-up now.

Appiah should be the next young star that Everton poach. This kid has the potential to go all the way to the top and Everton is the perfect environment for him to thrive.

Everton must seriously consider making a move for Appiah before other clubs step up their interest.
