Everton should rekindle previous Arkadiusz Milik interest amid Premier League transfer reports

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer. CalcioNapoli24 has suggested that the Polish striker is being tracked by both Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of the summer.

It is believed Milik could be moved on this summer, with Napoli agreeing a deal to sign SPAL striker Andrea Petagna and close to renewing the contract of Belgian star Dries Mertens.

So Milik appears to be on the radar for several clubs and Everton will hopefully join them.

Everton have been linked with a move for Milik in the past. Back in January 2019, it was suggested by Radio Marte that Everton were looking at the pole as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

He was also on Everton’s radar as far back as 2016, when playing for Ajax, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Everton are still in need of another striker, despite the good form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Milik is a potent finisher – with 12 goals in 22 games this season.

With his contract expiring in 2021, there is no doubt Napoli will be starting to consider the next best move regarding Milik’s future at the club. The Express has reported a valuation in the region of €45 million (£40m), not unreasonable, for the player.

Then there is the Carlo Ancelotti factor. The Everton boss was Milik’s manager in Naples and the Pole was a huge fan of the Italian. He spoke glowingly of the Goodison Park supremo, as reported by Football Italia, in June last year.

“He (Ancelotti) took us out of that strict tactical regime, so we have fewer fenceposts holding us in, are allowed to improvise more and be creative.

“Ancelotti is a very calm person who never really shouts or loses his temper, even if he gets angry. It’s actually quite new for me to work with a Coach like this.”

So there is clearly mutual respect between the two, Milik appears to be available and he would be an incredible option to add to Everton’s attack.

At £40 million, Everton could do a lot worse than the 26-year-old goal-getter.
