Everton’s defensive area certainly needs addressing for next season, as it’s been a constant problem for manager Marco Silva at Goodison Park.

The Toffees have had their issues in the full-back areas, while the centre-back positions have also been a concern.

Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and loanee Kurt Zouma have been the main options for the heart of defence, but have all had their obstacles to overcome.

Phil Jagielka, 36, is also out of contract with the Merseyside club at the end of the season and there appears to be plenty of work for Silva to do.

Everton should turn their attention to Norwich City’s Ben Godfrey in the Championship, as he’s an upcoming talent with big potential.

According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United, Arsenal, Lyon and RB Leipzig are all tracking the in-demand defender.

The report details that he’s a £10million-rated centre-back and that he’s set for a call-up to England’s Under-21s side.

Godfrey, 21, has been transformed into a centre-back this campaign after developing as a midfielder and it helps him be extremely composed on the ball.

He’s a physical presence that is good in the air and a strong passer, which is why his £10million valuation could end up being a bargain if he keeps improving at the current rate.

Everton could do with a quality youngster to push Zouma and Mina next season, with the Norwich certainly someone that the club should consider.
