Everton should offload defender Brendan Galloway on permanent basis

Everton defender Brendan Galloway is reportedly hoping to seal a loan move away from Goodison Park in the New Year.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 22-year-old wants to try depart the Toffees on a temporary basis in January by finding a loan suitor.

The left-back has been playing with the Under-23s side as he comes back from a hamstring injury and breaking into the first-team seems an impossible task.

He is behind Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines in the pecking order, who are the two main full-backs vying for a spot in Marco Silva’s side.

Galloway has previously been out on loan with West Brom and Sunderland, where he’s struggled to make a serious impact and the English defender may never be at the level to cut the grade at Everton.

The left-sided flyer has been an upcoming talent that has represented England at various youth levels, but has failed to make an impression at club level.

Everton could sanction a loan exit in the New Year to a new club, but it seems unlikely he can carve out a future with the Merseyside club.

Silva should consider offloading him permanently and giving him a fresh start elsewhere, as his path looks blocked at Goodison Park.
