Everton should not be scared off by Malcom valuation

Everton have had a blueprint in recent times to spend big money on quality players, with £50million (BBC) for Richarlison and £45million (BBC) for Gylfi Sigurdsson an example of that.

The Toffees are reportedly now keen on Barcelona attacker Malcom after previously holding an interest before he joined the Spanish giants in the summer.

According to Marca, the Merseyside club are interested in the 21-year-old Brazilian after a difficult start to life with Barcelona.

But Goal reports that Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande have made a stunning £45million bid for the winger.

Everton would surely have to match that offer to have a chance of bringing him to Goodison Park, but should not be deterred by the sum and if they are serious about signing him splash out once again.

Malcom has not settled well at Camp Nou in the first half of the season, but is still an incredible talent that could rip up the Premier League.

The speed machine was directly involved in 20 goals in 38 games for Bordeaux last season, which originally caught the eye of Barcelona.

He is a left-footed ace that would slot in perfectly to Everton’s attacking style and be another marquee addition.

The Toffees are someway off breaking into the top-six despite spending recently, but a superstar like Malcom should help them get closer.
