The work begins now for Carlo Ancelotti at Everton.
The Italian manager was confirmed as Marco Silva’s successor on Saturday, and was in the stands to watch the team in action against Arsenal at Goodison Park.
The game finished 0-0, which saw Everton record their fourth league clean sheet of the season.

Saturday was an improvement at the back, but the Toffees have struggled defensively for most of the season and arguably Ancelotti needs reinforcements in January.
Finding the right player mid-season can be quite difficult, but a potential opportunity may have arisen over in Ligue 1.
According to a report from Le10 Sport, Paris Saint-Germain’s contract talks with Marquinhos have broken down over wages.
His situation is being monitored by the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, but perhaps Everton can show their ambition by getting involved over the Brazilian.
TBR’s view – Marquinhos would be stunning Everton addition
Perhaps Ancelotti can launch a raid on his former club to land the 46-cap Brazilian in what would be a stunning signing.

Able to operate as a central defender or a holding midfielder, Marquinhos is a wonderfully effective player and arguably he would improve Everton massively in defence.
This would be a very difficult deal to pull off, especially in January, but perhaps with Ancelotti now at the helm players of this calibre are no longer out of the question.
