Everton should join race for Martin Odegaard and fill two major gaps in their team

Real Madrid-owned star Martin Odegaard is being linked with a host of clubs this week. The Norwegian starlet is enjoying a fine season on loan at Real Sociedad and is being linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.

El Desmarque is reporting that Real Madrid want £62 million for the player, who has not featured in Zinedine Zidane’s plans at the Bernabeu.

The one-time wonderkid is finally living up to his early billing and plenty of teams should be tracking his future. Everton should be one of those teams.

This summer it was reported by The Telegraph that Everton wanted a left-footed attacker to add balance to their offense. Everton did not manage to bring one in but Odegaard would fill that void.

Whilst he can play on the right-hand side of midfield, his improved performances this season have come via the attacking midfield role, where Everton are also looking weak.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been struggling to find his best form for some time now and Odegaard could be a more dynamic option in behind the striker.

Considering the amount of money Everton were willing to spend to bring in Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace this summer, they would be able to facilitate a transfer for the Norwegian talent.

He would plug two major gaps in the Everton team and would be another exciting young recruit from Marcel Brands. Hopefully, it is an option the Toffees are willing to explore.
