Everton should strongly consider joining Cardiff City in the race to sign AS Monaco full-back Almamy Toure.
The Bluebirds, according to BBC Sport, are interested in signing the Mali international before Thursday’s 11pm deadline.
Toure has made just six appearances in all competitions this season, with summer signing Benjamin Henrichs having been Thierry Henry’s go-to.

Henry has now been fired as first-team manager, but his replacement – the returning Leonardo Jardim – failed to pick Toure in his first 18-man squad for the Coupe de la Ligue semi-final with Guingamp.
Cardiff are keen to get a deal for Toure over the line, with BBC Sport reporting he has been valued at £8 million.
One team that should not be standing by letting this happen is Everton.
A possible bargain Coleman replacement
Toure’s reported £8 million valuation is likely as a result of the fact that the player will be out of contract this summer.
Everton need to join the race for Toure, as right-back has become something of a weak area for the side this season.
Seamus Coleman’s form this term has taken a huge dip and there are fears that he may not be able to recapture his performance levels of a few seasons ago.
The Irishman has not been the same force since suffering a broken leg in 2017 for his country.

Jonjoe Kenny has done little to convince as Coleman’s deputy, suggesting that there is need for Marco Silva to secure some fresh impetus.
Marauding full-back Toure made 27 appearances in each of the last two campaigns in all competitions, but perhaps now is the right time for him to leave Stade Louis II.
