Everton should closely monitor Wolves defender Matt Doherty

Everton should begin to think about life after Seamus Coleman in their defence, who has seen his form nosedive recently and it could be worth lining up a replacement.

The Toffees need to commence drawing up plans to find a new right-back and they should pay close to attention to Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Matt Doherty.

Doherty, 26, is a defender that has taken the Premier League by storm this season and had no difficult adjusting to the top flight.

The Republic of Ireland ace is a right-back that is teammates with Coleman at international level and there are similarities in their style.

Doherty is filling a similar role so far this season at Molineux and he would be an interesting Everton target if he sustains his form over an entire season.

The full-back has already scored three league goals and supplied three assists too, which has made him a secret weapon in Nuno Espirto Santo’s side.

Everton are attempting to play an attacking style under Marco Silva and left-back Lucas Digne is a prime example of that.

They will need to find a successor to 30-year-old Coleman considering his form and the Wolves man has to be on their radar as an ideal fit.
