Everton see first hand why Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be top of their transfer shortlist

Everton fans this season have been calling on the club to bring in a new right-back in the summer. Seamus Coleman has not had the best of campaigns and many feel the Irishman is reaching the end of his best.

One name that has been mentioned as a potential recruit is Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

As reported by The Sun in February, Everton were the first team to register an interest in the talented defender when he first made his Palace breakthrough. Since then the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest. The Sun reports that the full-back is valued at £40 million by the Eagles, a big fee for Everton to spend.

This weekend, however, Everton got to see first hand just why he is rated, and valued, so highly.

After Everton’s left-side punished Manchester United so freely last weekend, Palace might have been fretful.

However, Wan-Bissaka was brilliant throughout the game. He left Bernard and Lucas Digne struggling to make any real impact in yet another brilliant performance.

If Everton are still considering who they should target to replace Coleman, then this was a fairly successful audition from the 21-year-old. Even if he is expensive.
