Everton scouts were in attendance for FC Porto’s match with Nacional on Monday night to watch Yacine Brahimi.

Brahimi gave them something to think about, as he produced a vibrant display that yielded his fifth and sixth goals of the season.

It’s now four goals in the last five games for Brahimi and it would appear he is hitting form just at the right time. He’s bumped his average rating up to an impressive 7.33 (via WhoScored).

Brahimi is out of contract in the summer and could potentially leave Porto this month on the cheap to avoid a free transfer.

Everton were linked with Brahimi last month, and O Jogo have now claimed scouts were impressed with what they saw.

Brahimi would be a good Walcott upgrade

Brahimi’s early season form was not good, but he has proven that it was simply a blip.

The talented attacker, who can player anywhere across the frontline, is great with both feet and has explosive pace.

He would be a great replacement for the struggling Theo Walcott, who is failing to justify Marco Silva’s continued faith.

Walcott started well for the Toffees but has produced just three goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.

It’s a disappointing return when at one point he looked as though he’d be a dangerous player for Everton.

Certainly Brahimi could potentially be just that. It remains to be seen if the scouts have managed to convince Silva he’s worth a punt.

As well as scoring more goals, Brahimi has dribbled more, made more accurate passes, made more ‘key’ passes and through balls than the Englishman.
