Wendell wanted

Everton have another left-back in their crosshairs, with Sky Sports suggesting that Bayer Leverkusen defender Wendell is now being targeted.

The Toffees are on the hunt for a new left-back, with Leighton Baines approaching the end of his career.

The Brazilian defender has now been earmarked as a potential recruit after starring in the Bundesliga last term.

Originally a winger, the 24-year-old would bring an attacking presence to the left-back position, much like Baines.

It comes as Leicester City emerge as a rival in the hunt for German international Marvin Plattenhardt.

Lang shot?

Everton target Callum Lang is in a contract stand-off with his current club Wigan Athletic. The 19-year-old is out of contract in 2019 and talks over an extension have collapsed – according to the Liverpool Echo.

A boyhood Everton fan, Lang scored 10 goals in 30 appearances for Morecambe during a League Two loan spell last season.

Such form attracted the attention of Everton, who would want to add him to their under-23 set-up.

Wass a target

Everton continue to be linked with Danish winger Daniel Wass. The exciting attacker is being linked with Everton as well as a number of clubs by Marca.

The club have reportedly fallen out with the agency that represents the 29-year-old, meaning an extension to his deal at the club looks unlikely.

Wass’ current deal expires in the summer of 2019 and Everton will reportedly battle Roma for his services.
