A selection of the latest news and gossip from Everton.

Welbeck linked

Everton are said to be tracking the situation regarding Danny Welbeck at Arsenal. The Mirror are reporting that the England international has not managed to make progress regarding a new deal at Arsenal. His current deal at The Emirates runs out in the summer.

Everton are said to be keeping tabs on the player ahead of a potential move in the summer. The 27-year-old was linked with Everton in the summer but no deal ever came to be.

Welbeck’s time at Arsenal has largely been disrupted by injury problems.

Usmanov rubbished

Alisher Usmanov’s recent comments about helping Everton financially have been dismissed by Jim White on talkSPORT, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. The presenter, who is close to Everton’s former chairman Bill Kenwright, stated that the Russian oligarch is more likely to invest in a club of his own in Italy, rather than help old friend Farhad Moshiri at Goodison Park.

Hopefully, these rumours can be put to bed.

Friendly time

The Liverpool Echo report that Everton are set to arrange a behind-closed-doors friendly for the upcoming international break.

Everton want to give new signings Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina a chance to show their fitness. Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman have also been out with injury and are closing in on a return.

James McCarthy, who has recently returned to training after his horror leg break may struggle to make a friendly but is in the thinking of Marco Silva, according to the report.
