Everton round-up: Tosun going nowhere, Digne thankful and Williams ‘back to best’

A selection of the latest news and gossip from Everton.

Tosun going nowhere

Cenk Tosun is determined to remain at Everton despite reports suggesting he could return to Besiktas this winter.

Reports in his homeland this week have suggested that a return to Istanbul might be on the cards. However, Turkish Football report that the £27 million striker has no desire to leave Everton as he wants to find his best form at Goodison Park.

The report also claims the club have not made any contract over a potential return in the New Year.

The Turkish international has struggled to find goals in recent weeks.

Digne thankful

Everton newbie Lucas Digne has been discussing his return to the French national team. Speaking to Everton TV he has stated that the move was ‘important’ to his Les Bleus recall.

The 21-cap defender was on France’s standby list for their successful World Cup campaign in the summer.

The £18 million signing from Barcelona has cemented his role as Everton’s starting left-back this season and has caught the eye of the French boss Didier Deschamps with his displays.

Williams form

Everton loanee Ashley Williams is ‘back to his best’, according to Wales and Stoke City team-mate Joe Allen.

The midfielder told the BBC the player, who endured some dreadful form at Everton last season, has ‘worked hard’ to get back to this position and is making a ‘big difference’ to the Potters recent form.
