Silva wants ‘solutions’ not ‘excuses’
Marco Silva says Everton must now ‘find solutions’ and not ‘excuses’ after a dismal display against Wolves yesterday.
The Toffees lost 3-1 at Goodison Park in an insipid display that left fans furious. The fact the highlight of the game was a pitch invasion from a domestic moggy highlights the issue.
Silva said, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, that his players made it ‘too easy’ for wolves to win the game and that the team now has ‘an obligation’ to turn things around.
Pennington was wanted
Frank Lampard has admitted he wanted to bring Everton defender Matthew Pennington to Pride Park on loan on deadline day.
It was rumoured that the Rams were keen on the player, who is currently on loan at Championship strugglers Ipswich Town.
Speaking to The Derby Telegraph, he admitted that the approach was ‘too late’ and respected Ipswich’s desire to keep the player.
Middlesbrough rejected the chance to sign Yannick Bolasie on loan. As reported by The Northern Echo, the Championship side were given the chance to sign the DR Congo star after he had cancelled his spell at Aston Villa.
Tony Pulis, who managed Bolasie at Crystal Palace, rejected the opportunity and Bolasie ended up joining Anderlecht.
