Ramsey pursuit

Everton are hopeful of bringing Aaron Ramsey to Goodison Park. The Welsh international is out of contract at the end of the season and had a contract offer from Arsenal pulled off the table recently.

It means he is available next summer and, according to The Sun, Everton are willing to offer him a deal worth £150k-a-week to come play on Merseyside.

Liverpool are also keen and Ramsey could command a reported £15 million signing-on fee.

Williams ‘outstanding’

It seems Everton loanee Ashley Williams is getting back to his best.

The centre-back was sent to Stoke City on loan this summer after an awful run of form at Goodison Park.

After a dreadful start, his form has recently picked up and he was excellent against the Republic of Ireland yesterday as Wales won 1-0.

Welsh boss Ryan Giggs called his display ‘outstanding’ but Everton fans will still be pleased he is out the door.

Duffy regret

Irish legend Liam Brady believes Everton are ‘going to regret’ letting Shane Duffy go, as he explained to The Argus.

Everton sold the Irish defender to Brighton and Hove Albion in 2014 after failing to establish himself at Goodison Park.

He has since gone on to thrive on the south coast and is a regular in the Republic of Ireland starting XI.
