Silva updates

Marco Silva has confirmed ‘strong interest’ from Cardiff City in Oumar Niasse but refused to be drawn on a potential deal for Michy Batshuayi.

Niasse looks set to join Cardiff on loan but Silva says the deal was not yet done.

Chelsea’s Belgian striker has been linked with a move to Everton but Silva has made it clear he is focused on the players Everton currently have at their disposal.

He also confirmed that Morgan Schneiderlin is still in his plans.

Gueye ‘pushing’

Everton are adamant that Idrissa Gana Gueye will not be leaving the club this summer as PSG lurk. However, Foot Mercato is suggesting that the player and his agents are ‘pushing’ for a move.

The French side are unwilling to spend over €30 million (£26.4 million) on the player but Everton are insisting on a far bigger price-tag.

Astley signs on

Everton have secured Welsh talent Ryan Astley to a new deal. The talented 17-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal recently after some sensational performances at the back for Everton’s under-23s.

The teenage talent has signed a deal until 2021 and Everton fans will be hoping he lives up to the hype.
