Silva backing

Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has full faith in Marco Silva. The Portuguese boss has seen his job come under threat this week with some suggesting that he could face the sack with a less than impressive display against Manchester City tomorrow night.

However, Moshiri told Jim White of talkSPORT that Silva is ‘planning long-term’ and no exit is currently planned.

Silva told his pre-match press conference today that he is not surprised by Moshiri’s backing and that he agrees with his assessment, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Pep Guardiola has also backed Silva. He told his pre-match presser, as reported by Sky Sports, that if Everton ‘believe’ in Silva they must persevere.

Gueye messed around

Idrissa Gana Gueye is reportedly disappointed at both Everton and PSG for ‘messing him around’ during the January transfer wrangle.

As reported by Le Parisien, and relayed by Sport Witness, the Senegal international was disappointed in the way the transfer interest from PSG was handled.

Gueye was heavily linked with a move to PSG but the two clubs never got near to an agreement.
