Injury boosts

Everton can call on summer signings Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes for the game with Crystal Palace this weekend.

The pair, who both arrived from Barcelona, have been struggling with injuries since they arrived at Goodison Park.

However, Marco Silva has confirmed they are available for selection this weekend.

He also confirmed that James McCarthy and Phil Jagielka are nearing returns to first-team action.

Origi on?

It seemed a nonsense story when it first emerged last week, but now ESPN is reporting that Divock Origi is wanted by Everton.

The report claims a £22 million fee was agreed with Wolves for the player in the summer, before the Belgian turned down the move. That suggests a similar fee could snap him up for Everton.

He would be the first person to make a switch between the Merseyside clubs since Abel Xavier in 2002.

Everton are looking for more firepower in attack and Origi is completely out of favour at Anfield.

‘Mental boost’

Former Everton fan favourite Sylvain Distin believes the club will benefit from Kurt Zouma and Lucas Digne’s recalls for France. The pair, who both joined the club in the summer, were in the latest Les Bleus squad for the international fixtures.

He told the Liverpool Echo that the international selection will act as ‘a mental boost’ for the players and that can only be good for Everton.
