Gomes battle
Tottenham Hotspur are set to rival Everton for Andre Gomes. The Portuguese star has been sensational for the club since joining on loan from Barcelona. Everton want to sign him permanently but will now face competition from their Premier League rivals.
As reported by The Telegraph, Tottenham sent head scout Steve Hitchen to the Merseyside derby where he was watching Gomes. It will not help Everton’s cause that he was the best player on the pitch that night.
Spurs see Gomes as a potential long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, who will leave the club in January or next summer.

Rangnick rattled
RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick is not happy at reports in France that Everton are interested in a €40 million (£36 million) move for Jean-Kevin Augustin.
He told the press today, as quoted by RB Live, that this is a ‘rumour’ and that there are no plans to sell the player.
He questioned the validity of the reports and seemed disappointed to hear Augustin being linked with an exit.
Everton fans will have little sympathy considering the open pursuit of Ademola Lookman by the German club this summer.
