Everton round-up: Barrios price, title ambition and Brahimi linked again

Wilmar price

Everton’s interest in Wilmar Barrios this January continues to be verified in Argentina. Whilst Marcel Brands has stated Everton will not be spending big in the January transfer window, the Colombian could, it seems, arrive.

Gol Caracol confirmed Everton’s interest this week and his club president at Boca Juniors, Daniel Angelici, confirmed his €23 (£20.8) million release clause is non-negotiable.

Everton could, therefore, sign him at that price with relative ease.

Everton title ambition

Everton want to win the Premier League at their new stadium, according to chief executive Denise Barret-Baxendale.

Speaking at a general meeting yesterday she stated that the new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock is a necessity if they want to be ‘chellenging’ for titles.

Everton are expected to formalise planning permission later this year.

Brahimi interest

The Mirror is reporting that Algerian international Yacine Brahimi is wanted by Everton. The player has been linked with a move to Everton in the past.

His contract at Porto is running out in the summer and Everton feel that they could snap up the player cheap in January or wait until the summer and sign him permanently.
