Barella linked

Everton are said to be interested in the Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella. The Express is suggesting that Cagliari’s £35 million-rated talent is wanted by several Premier League clubs.

Everton are believed to be interested in bringing him to Goodison Park. However, they have serious competition for his services. The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United are all said to be keen on the talent.

Everton would, therefore, need to push hard for his signature.

Pepe watched

According to the Sunday Mirror (30/09/18; pg 65), Everton are on the hunt for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe. The report suggests that Everton will scout the player this weekend. The report suggests that Everton sent scout Martyn Glover to watch the in-form 23-year-old.

The attacker has four goals and three assists so far this season, so is certainly demonstrating the form necessary to make it at Everton.

Gylfi’s character

Marco Silva has hailed the character of playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson after his weekend performance.

The Icelandic international missed a penalty against Fulham yesterday but went on to score two goals in a 3-0 win.

The Everton boss said he showcased ‘fantastic character’ and ‘personality’ to pick himself up after the early miss.
