Everton round-up: Baggies want Holgate, Gracia worried about Doucoure and Gomes chant

Holgate interest

West Brom are interested in signing Mason Holgate from Everton on loan in January. The defender has been told he can leave Goodison Park on a temporary deal next month as he struggles for first-team football under Marco Silva.

The Express and Star reports that the Baggies are hopeful of signing the player to solve their problem position at right-back and provide centre-back cover.

West Brom are currently in the Championship play-off places.

Doucoure fears

Watford boss Javi Gracia has admitted his fears over Everton interest in midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The Spaniard was speaking after another brilliant performance from the Frenchman, this time against Newcastle United.

The Hornets boss said ‘it doesn’t surprise’ him that other clubs are keen on his midfielder.

Doucoure is a target for PSG and Everton, according to the Daily Mail, with a £45 million fee needed to snap him up.

Gomes chant

Andre Gomes is a fan of the club’s chant in his honour. The Barcelona loanee has become a fan favourite at Goodison Park and now has a song in his honour to the tune of ‘Belter’ by Gerry Cinnamon.

Gomes took to his Twitter account to acknowledge the chant. He said it ‘sounds good’ and thanked fans for their support.
