Everton defender Matthew Pennington is wanted by two Championship clubs this summer. The 23-year-old, who signed a new deal at Goodison Park in the summer, is wanted by both Leeds United and Wigan Athletic.
The Liverpool Echo reports both clubs are keen on taking the player in on loan. Pennington spent last season on loan at Leeds, but had an injury ravaged campaign.
Wigan are looking to improve their side after winning promotion from League One last season.
Everton are still finalising a deal for Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne who has said goodbye to his team-mates. Now it seems his arrival will mean another of Everton’s young players leaving on loan.
USA international Antonee Robinson is expected to rejoin Bolton Wanderers on loan for the 2018-19 campaign. He spent a successful spell with the club last term and Everton would like him to continue his development under Phil Parkinson.
Everton under-23 talent Josh Bowler has responded to criticism from his former chairman Tony Fernandes. The forward left QPR for Everton last summer in a deal that upset the London side.
This week saw Fernandes suggest Bowler had been ‘overhyped’ in a swipe at agents for young players in the UK.
But Bowler has taken to Twitter to respond to suggest he made the right decision, telling his former chairman his ‘time will come’ at Everton.
